Gem , what sort of pictures are you after ? Colouring in ones or finished ones? Remember ! If you are painting on brass, it needs to be clean and polish free, then a couple of coats of primer/undercoat first. Enamel ( modellers paint) would probably be your best option. Got your PM, by the way. B.

Let's see if I've got this right ! Getting it all wrong.

This is only a trial mind. Hoping I've learned to post pics. Will try not to bore ya'all. B.

Miniature stools Gem. All in need of some touching up where chipped. Had em ages, butterflies too.

Finished ones I think Beekay,  might get ideas for my pieces, they are dolls house scale so you can't really get a lot of detail on them. Saying that I have see some lovely work in 12th scale from America.

Thank you Sue, and one and all. One does what one can, in the hope that you can bring a little colour into the equation. Barrie.

If anyone wants to emulate B's results, there's many books on Canal Folk Art, Barge Ware, Narrow Boat Art. Call it what you will !

Whilst walking to Sawley Marina several years ago, I noticed many books in the little gift shop there.

In my opinion, most people would have to go some to come close to BK's work, no matter how many specialist books they had!   It's not just technique that's necessary, you need flair as well to produce work like that.   And it's not just roses and geometric patterns,  there's the landscapes as well.  I love your paintings, Barrie.

I was only offering the opportunity for people to try Margie. Who knows what is achievable until they try. Just saying !!!

I totally agree with you Margie.  I certainly wouldn’t have the patience nor skill to work on the items that Beekay paints so beautifully (despite coming top in Art at C-Le-W I’ll have you know!). I don’t think that FLY’s comments were meant to be taken as they come across.  One could say that if you read books on Brain Surgery you could be a Brain Surgeon .......

I had one of my offerings exhibited nationally whilst I was at FFGS. Still got a certificate.

I've not seen it for years Margie. It possibly got left behind when Mrs FLY 1 and I split up. I'll have to have a rummage in the loft !

It was done on black paper, and was of fairground equipment arriving on Gregory Blvd at The Forest in readiness for Goose Fair.

I hope you find it, FLY.

I've got all  the certificates for 5 grades in ballet,  a bronze and silver medal for tap dancing and a bronze for 'Stage branch' dance, but I don't reckon I could do it now !!!

I know ...... that's totally irrelevant to this thread.... but just thought I'd like to tell you all as it's good to think back to things we've achieved in our lives.
