I have posted before but I would like to revisit.

There is a Housing Development called Fields Farm, very close to the old Trowell Pit, Stapleford Nottingham.

It appears to be having immense difficulties with flooding. Does anyone have any knowledge of whether the land it was on was once mining soil

They are having to use pile drivers to stabilise the housing. It looks as if they may be building on rafts.

Yes Graham, I'm absolutely amazed that they're building on those fields, as its always very low lying and very prone to flooding.

I'd be extremely apprehensive about buying a property there.

So, mining subsidence seems appropriate.
