Yes, I wasn't hoping for much and wasn't disappointed. All Indian food tastes pretty much the same to me. A high end Indian restaurant, Ghurka One, in nearby Rolleston has just closed down to be repla

So sad Rog.......all towns and Cities are going the same way........our World is becoming unrecogniseable from the one we knew and grew up with......and its not for the better.........

Between Castle gate and Middle gate there is a small alleyway and at the entrance off Castle gate are these unusual bricks set into the wall about twelve to fifteen inches from the ground, the story i

New-ish car park off West Parade near the Brayford pool,or the new car park near the new Bus station (transport hub) just off Pelham bridge (A15)

You can park for free in Waitress car park for 2 hours and walk in over Trent Bridge. Otherwise I would suggest Tolney Lane car park or the the one opposite near Castle Station/Council headquarters. If you park in Tolney Lane you can cross via Trent Bridge or go via Town Lock and cross the river there and come out at the top of Millgate. The town is over the road. If you don't mind a longer walk there is a retail park on Northgate (Currys, Boots etc) where you can park for free all day.

If you park in the retail park car park it's free,no time limit, just walk down past the old Oast houses (to the left of the shops as you look at them) to the riverside walk, turn left and follow it over the white bridge, carry on to Trent bridge over there and you are in newark, about 15 minute walk

Regarding Farndon........used to deal with a VG shop there,,,can't remember the couple that owned it........but do remember them coming to an open night at Gibsons  Daybrook.

I recall because one of Gibsons Reps was a great friend of mine,,,and to say he was off the wall would be putting it mildly.  He had this obsession of shouting ''Wallop'' at every opportunity.  On intro to the lady from Farndon he shouted ''WALLOP'' and her Wig shot up off her head,,,very funny at the time...

A man on a trike with his parts just 4" above the ground asking the ladies of Newark where Marsden's used to be. You're a brave man Rog!
