Guest
Xmas nights in Bulwell were always a laugh,my mates from Silverdale and Albany rd. Would meet in the Apollo and start a 'theme' Pernod and black or cider& macko etc..down then to The Newstead, great pint ..crisp ..if you get my drift all the way into The Headstock's, which had a "new romantic" jukebox!! The only pub we missed was up near the cricket pitch..Hall Park Tavern?? Too far to crawl!!

Terry Sadler 27
Re: Ian's query #392... Shonky pit closed in 1945. We lived at Back Cottages back then and the nearest air raid shelter was on the pit compound. The shaft was used for pumping for a couple of years after.
