And it's a 28 day wait after a Positive Covid test before you can have the booster (plus the 6 months from original double jabs).

It appears Booster bookings are being done via the NHS website and not Swiftqueue (unless it redirects to there) and subject to having been invited to book.

On the 6-month rule my booster comes up in about a fortnight, although I've not been officially informed of it yet.

In the last couple of weeks I've been socialising more than at any time since it all started, although I still wouldn't want to be in a crowded, close-packed place.

Booster booked for next week at Brinsley. According to the letter it may be Pfizer or Moderna.

Taking a pessimistic view I've started Christmas shopping - just in case. First time in 70 years I've been ahead of the curve, I'm usually running round like a headless chicken on the 24th...    :victory:

Had my booster jab (Pfizer) on Saturday at my doctors surgery, exactly 6 months to the day of my second jab. Must say the system in place ran smoothly, very impressed with the surgery nurses (not a doctor in sight I might add) who even handled an elderly lady who wanted an AZ booster as that was the initial jabs she had with tact and kindness eventually persuading her to have the booster.
However later on Saturday afternoon I got another txt inviting me to have my booster as there were appointments available on Sunday & then got the link to book an appointment. Bit of an admin blip there.

I didn’t have any side effects from the first 2 jabs, just felt a bit “off” on the day after the second but still able to carry on as normal. Today I have had a few aches and pains and felt a bit tired but nothing major, still able to walk Jj (between showers) etc. I am invigilating at the school from 1 November so it will have had 7 days to work it’s magic and along with my mask and taffix I will hopefully have everything covered.
It seems the “government” is once again sleepwalking into another crisis, don’t seem to learn from their mistakes earlier in the pandemic. Oh well I am doing my bit, just wish other people would do theirs.

When we had our boosters and flu vaccines 2 weeks ago, which were arranged through a message from the GP Surgery, we also got an invitation from NHS the next day.
Obviously the surgery hadn’t informed them that we’d already been ‘done’  Not that it matters ….

Had my third jab on Friday, was a bit before the 6 months gap as I start 20 sessions of radiotherapy on 3'rd November & the oncologist didn't want me to have the jab half way through my treatment. He said "go & get it over with." My arms hurting a bit & got a bit of a headache, but otherwise OK...

Colly, all the best for your radiotherapy sessions starting in 10 days’ time.

I feel sure many on here will be thinking of you…

Let us know how you get on x

You’re bound to be nervous Colly but you’ll be fine. A few Nottstalgians (and my husband) have gone through this already and at least you’ve only got 20 sessions whereas those that have gone before had 37 trips.  You’ll be sorted for Christmas! Best wishes to you.

Colly, while you're undergoing your treatment, you'll have lots of time to cogitate about the universe, the multiverse and parallel worlds.

When your treatment is over, I look forward to reading your findings on this site.

No pressure, then!

Chin up...and watch out for those neutrinos.  I hear they're good with warm milk and a spot of golden syrup. ;)

Thanks Lizzie, Benjamin, Mary Brew, Carney, Beekay & Jill. Don't know why I'm having 20 sessions of RT while others have had 37, they told be I have a very small prostate so whether that's owt to do it I don't know. I'll ask if I don't forget. I'm still doing DJ'ing & humping audio equipment about at my Wife's line dance classes & socials, did from 7 PM till 11-30 at a social on Saturday night & I was so tired I slept till 11-45 AM yesterday, can't believe I used to work 12 hour shifts no problem. Doing 2 hours tonight so should be OK...

Finally got around to re-booking my Covid Booster that I should have had last Saturday when I was stuck in Marbella, thanks to Michael O’Leary’s tribe.   The Day 2 PCR ‘negative’ result popped onto my Email this evening so I’m fit to go down the Forest Rec this weekend!

The NHS Web Site has been politely telling me to 'Do one..' ...for a week or so until tonight.  Our local street Whatsapp Mafia discovered that bookings were open... so I went onto the NHS App.

There was nothing on the Mobile App pointing to the Covid Booster.. but a search of the site using 'Covid Booster', took me to a page telling me I could now book. It invited me to select a site. Options included the St Helens RL Ground site where I had my first two jabs, and which was the only site in St Helens for the first jabs... plus a number of other sites. I selected the RL ground, and a time. I was asked for Mobile No., and email (optional). Site accepted my phone No., but not my email addy, which it continually told me was incorrect/not valid. It is valid... trust me. This pratting about took so long that my original choice of time was gone before I booked it.. So..I 'sacked off' the email option, went with just Mobile No..and now have a confirmed appt. for 4th Nov.

God help the truly IT limited.

After having my booster then getting another link to make an appointment for it, I have now been notified by the NHS that, yes, I now qualify for my booster and to click on the link for an appointment at a place of my choosing.
Never been so popular:rolleyes:

The number of places available for vaccination is certainly being reduced.

The place where I went for my 2 jabs - which was a 'Community Hall' - has now been dismantled, all the vaccination gear taken away, and the building is now back to its original purpose. It had been doing vaccinations since the very beginning. I'll have to go somewhere else for my booster.

In my case I was spoiled for choice, first two had one location each (both different) but for the booster I could select from seven places...
