Good day today , teeth checked and scrubbed by hygienist .

On the way back to the car , no one in the barbers , so what's left got pruned .

That's gone up , used to get an OAP rate of a fiver pre lock down , now £8 !!

Got home and had text to book for booster . My wife didn't get a notification but the NHS site accepted her booking as well as mine.

Its  just up the road , walking distance so booked in for 5th Nov.

If I'd got my eyes done would have been a full service and MOT :)

What will the one after the “Booster” be called?

I'd imagine it will be the 'Annual Covid Vaccine', or maybe the 'Bi-Annual Covid Vaccine', until the bug is reduced to similar status to that which Influenza enjoys now.

As posted last Tuesday, we had a negative result from our Day 2 PCR test following our trip to Spain the week before.  All good until last Thursday when we were both ‘pinged’ to inform us we’d been in close contact with someone with Covid.  I wanted to just ignore it, especially as we’d got tickets for the theatre that night …… and on the link on the text it told us we didn’t need to isolate if we’d have 2 Covid jabs.  Then our friends we travelled with from Spain rang to say they’d been ‘pinged’ too.  So off we all trouped to the Forest for yet another PCR test.  Whilst there I had my Booster too.  Next day we were relieved to get yet another Negative Covid result.  Pretty obvious that someone on that Malaga-EMA flight had tested positive and then a plane-load had to get another PCR.  The whole issue was doing my head in though, we were all getting numerous phone calls, emails and texts telling us to go and get tested, even after we’d done it and registered the results on the NHS Covid App.  So much money is being wasted on this virus.

The booster jab situation is still chaotic.  I have mine booked for Thursday at the St Helens Rugby League Ground, where I had the first two jabs.

But.. Mrs Col still hasn't received a text to get hers.

Also.. there are now supposed to be 'walk in' centres everywhere, yet I could only find one within a 20 mile radius.  Many of them are only doing 12-15 year olds, or only have certain vaccines available.  It's not encouraging.

I've got to go to Netherfield to get mine. There seems to be nothing in the Southwell area.

Not sure if the process is different as I’m getting a booster as clinically vulnerable. I should have had it weeks ago but was too ill with Corona and isolating anyway. Still struggling but specialist advised me to get it ASAP. I’ve just booked at Brackenhurst Southwell. I wasn’t aware it was a vacation centre.

I had the booster in Hucknall just over a week ago, a long wait at the centre over an hour but I thought well at least its over with. That evening I felt rough and went to bed very early.  Next day I thought I had the hangover of all hangovers , the next few days it slowly improved but if I bent down or moved a bit too fast I went dizzy. Now over a week has passed I am about back to normal.

Yesterday the wife had her booster and is feeling the same as I was , I hope hers doesnt last as long,  luckily when she is not feeling good she can sleep, over 18 hrs in the last 24 hrs.  I hope others havent had any of these side effects, could it be because we have had two different vaccines.

@trogg we had a different vaccine for our boosters - it was Pfizer  like yours - and we had no side effects with that (unlike the other 2 AZ vaccines we had)

sorry you felt so rough x

Paul is just about getting over the horrible ‘super cold’ that is doing the rounds .  He was really poorly with constant cough, Headache and   lethargy as well as the copious amounts of mucus (lovely)

He has done 2 LFTs for Covid and they were both negative.  Strangely

, I haven’t caught it!

As far as I know, all boosters are Pfizer or Moderna, regardless of what you had for first two (I too had AZ for first two and Pfizer booster - no reaction to the AZs but minor ache/tenderness for four days after the Pfizer).  They didn't have Moderna at Richard Herrod where I volunteered.  One or two patients tried to demand AZ booster (as that is what they had for first jabs) but the medics talked them around to Pfizer.  The brand name for Pfizer is Comirnarty so you might see that on the information sheet.

Those of you who had AZ did you have to wait 6 months after to get your booster? Everyone here who had Pfizer for first 2 jabs have had their booster but not sure if it was Pfizer again. They say AZ lasts longer than the others and thats why we have to wait for booster. It will be Pfizer.

Definitely have to wait the full six months after both Astra Zeneca and Pfizer second jabs Nonna.  We got a text message to tell us when to book the Booster.  A friend of ours hadn’t received the text and rolled up at the vaccine centre and was told he was too early …… he was only 1 day too early!

I’ve just had mine at a swish new medical centre in Netherfield. It looks out of place surrounded by the rows of terraced houses. Nowhere to park on site of course. I had to wait 45 minutes beyond my allotted time and then they told me I had to sit down for 15 minutes. ‘No way’, I said and cleared off. I was given Pfizer again like my previous two doses. They told me it was the most effective. I didn’t argue. The booster arrangements are a shambles compared with the efficient appointments I attended previously. I now find, on the grapevine, that they are doing jabs at Brackenhurst College, about three miles away from home.

Got my text this morning, 4th Nov.

6 month anniversary was on the 2nd Nov.

I'd pre-empted and booked yesterday for the earliest I could get locally on the 13th Nov.

Got a text from my G.P Medical Centre this afternoon.
The earliest I can get in there is 3hrs after the appointment I've already got elsewhere.
I'm sticking.
