Jill Sparrow 9,179
Colly, while you're undergoing your treatment, you'll have lots of time to cogitate about the universe, the multiverse and parallel worlds. When your treatment is over, I look forward to reading your findings on this site. No pressure, then! Chin up...and watch out for those neutrinos. I hear they're good with warm milk and a spot of golden syrup.
colly0410 1,162
Thanks Lizzie, Benjamin, Mary Brew, Carney, Beekay & Jill. Don't know why I'm having 20 sessions of RT while others have had 37, they told be I have a very small prostate so whether that's owt to do it I don't know. I'll ask if I don't forget. I'm still doing DJ'ing & humping audio equipment about at my Wife's line dance classes & socials, did from 7 PM till 11-30 at a social on Saturday night & I was so tired I slept till 11-45 AM yesterday, can't believe I used to work 12 hour shifts no problem. Doing 2 hours tonight so should be OK...

LizzieM 9,025
Finally got around to re-booking my Covid Booster that I should have had last Saturday when I was stuck in Marbella, thanks to Michael O’Leary’s tribe. The Day 2 PCR ‘negative’ result popped onto my Email this evening so I’m fit to go down the Forest Rec this weekend!
DJ360 6,113
The NHS Web Site has been politely telling me to 'Do one..' ...for a week or so until tonight. Our local street Whatsapp Mafia discovered that bookings were open... so I went onto the NHS App. There was nothing on the Mobile App pointing to the Covid Booster.. but a search of the site using 'Covid Booster', took me to a page telling me I could now book. It invited me to select a site. Options included the St Helens RL Ground site where I had my first two jabs, and which was the only site in St Helens for the first jabs... plus a number of other sites. I selected the RL ground, and a time. I was asked for Mobile No., and email (optional). Site accepted my phone No., but not my email addy, which it continually told me was incorrect/not valid. It is valid... trust me. This pratting about took so long that my original choice of time was gone before I booked it.. So..I 'sacked off' the email option, went with just Mobile No..and now have a confirmed appt. for 4th Nov. God help the truly IT limited.
Stavertongirl 1,629
After having my booster then getting another link to make an appointment for it, I have now been notified by the NHS that, yes, I now qualify for my booster and to click on the link for an appointment at a place of my choosing. Never been so popular
Cliff Ton 9,446
The number of places available for vaccination is certainly being reduced. The place where I went for my 2 jabs - which was a 'Community Hall' - has now been dismantled, all the vaccination gear taken away, and the building is now back to its original purpose. It had been doing vaccinations since the very beginning. I'll have to go somewhere else for my booster.
philmayfield 4,938
Our nearest vaccination centres are at least 14 miles away. Nowhere in the Newark/Southwell area. Absolutely ridiculous.
Brew 4,899
In my case I was spoiled for choice, first two had one location each (both different) but for the booster I could select from seven places...

DAVIDW 1,574
Good day today , teeth checked and scrubbed by hygienist . On the way back to the car , no one in the barbers , so what's left got pruned . That's gone up , used to get an OAP rate of a fiver pre lock down , now £8 !! Got home and had text to book for booster . My wife didn't get a notification but the NHS site accepted her booking as well as mine. Its just up the road , walking distance so booked in for 5th Nov. If I'd got my eyes done would have been a full service and MOT 2

I'd imagine it will be the 'Annual Covid Vaccine', or maybe the 'Bi-Annual Covid Vaccine', until the bug is reduced to similar status to that which Influenza enjoys now. LizzieM 9,025
As posted last Tuesday, we had a negative result from our Day 2 PCR test following our trip to Spain the week before. All good until last Thursday when we were both ‘pinged’ to inform us we’d been in close contact with someone with Covid. I wanted to just ignore it, especially as we’d got tickets for the theatre that night …… and on the link on the text it told us we didn’t need to isolate if we’d have 2 Covid jabs. Then our friends we travelled with from Spain rang to say they’d been ‘pinged’ too. So off we all trouped to the Forest for yet another PCR test. Whilst there I had my Booster too. Next day we were relieved to get yet another Negative Covid result. Pretty obvious that someone on that Malaga-EMA flight had tested positive and then a plane-load had to get another PCR. The whole issue was doing my head in though, we were all getting numerous phone calls, emails and texts telling us to go and get tested, even after we’d done it and registered the results on the NHS Covid App. So much money is being wasted on this virus. DJ360 6,113
The booster jab situation is still chaotic. I have mine booked for Thursday at the St Helens Rugby League Ground, where I had the first two jabs. But.. Mrs Col still hasn't received a text to get hers. Also.. there are now supposed to be 'walk in' centres everywhere, yet I could only find one within a 20 mile radius. Many of them are only doing 12-15 year olds, or only have certain vaccines available. It's not encouraging.
philmayfield 4,938
The initial roll out of injections was done efficiently and smoothly. The booster jab is being done in a very haphazard way. I've got to go to Netherfield to get mine. There seems to be nothing in the Southwell area.

Not sure if the process is different as I’m getting a booster as clinically vulnerable. I should have had it weeks ago but was too ill with Corona and isolating anyway. Still struggling but specialist advised me to get it ASAP. I’ve just booked at Brackenhurst Southwell. I wasn’t aware it was a vacation centre.
