Apologies for not being part of the clique

This clique ( a small close-knit group of people who do not readily allow others to join them), is not actually a clique at all. What you find if you can be bothered to look is a group of people who share a common interest and you are welcome to join any of the myriad posts that are under comment and discussion.

As the News of the World once boasted - All human life is here.

Please leave any bad attitude at the door. Thank you

Brew, I think you've overlooked the post to which the 'clique' comment alluded to - as classic an example of cliquism as I ever saw. More so, the likes your post has attracted.... Just sayin' ...:)

Yes, 'likes' do tend to indicate cliqueyness. I'll not give any likes in future to maintain impartiality!

No they indicate agreement, approval or to indicate something that is 'liked' by the reader. Only those who disagree or have a persecution complex think it indicates a clique and insults member intelligence

Strangely enough I did exactly that before I posted and that's where my definition comes from.  I know I may not be the brightest flower in the bunch so please elucidate, I'm always willing to learn.

I often give likes for no other reason than to let a member know that I saw their post and do not disgree with it.  If I did disagree I would post a polite response with my reasons for disagreement.  I'm not here to raise my blood pressure.  It's high enough already.

As the saying goes.....There are none so blind as they who will not see.

I'll leave you to your site.

Goodbye.

Oh dear I hope you don't leave. We may disagree but that's hardly reason for pouting and flouncing off into the sunset. Stay and state your case, without cliches, or don't respond but don't leave on my account...

I agree with Stavertongirl regarding students they way they are behaving all over the country. They cannot seriously think they are immune unless they think alcohol kills the virus, if they can't follow the rules where they are living send them home. See if they behave the same in the place where their families live.

Oh to be eighteen again.

I would be doing exactly the same as the students.

Jim, whilst I appreciated the obvious irony in the bulk of your post, this last bit seems to me to be hinting that all of the loonies and conspiracy theorists are Socialists.  Most conspiracy theorists don't have a clue and just seem to fear ALL government.

High blood pressure Loppy? Wanna buy some Ramipril? Only used once going to church.

Hi. BK  Yeh, bp high.  I am planning on cataract surgery and the eye doctor gave me a form for my gp to sign saying I was fit for the procedure.  My gp found the bp to be high.  I was already on a bp med but it does not seem to be working as well as well as it was.  Gave me a different kind last week but it's no better.  Have to call him tomorrow.  It wasn't Ramipril.  I think fear of side effects drives my bp up.  Did Ramipril help you?

It's the Chinese Col, they're socialist you know...      I  think you're looking for aspersions where there are none.  ;)

Watcha Loppy, yes, Ramipril is doing me some good. I'm still on it and have been for quite a while. My cardiac nurse is delighted with my bp. I bought myself a bp monitor so I can keep an eye on it and give the nurse some results when she rings, (Covid you know). I down loaded a bp chart so I've got an idea and my resting bp is in the normal range. My missus, her bp shoots up when she sees the machine, but our gp says it 'White Coat syndrome.

That was one of the things about this new gp I've got.  When I mentioned White coat syndrome he immediately jumped down my throat.  "No such thing!!"  Well, I had some news for him.  Plenty of docs believe in it.  First thing they do is take your bp.  It can be fine at home, but way up when you get there.  You need average readings over several days.
