If anyone has a couple of Japanese acer trees I would like to ask you a question. We've just had a delivery of a green and red one.Weve already dug the holes ready but there's an argument about the distance between the two and we can't decide. Please help before we go mad as we keep moving the holes:wacko:

Give a thought Nonna, but be aware of 'social distancing. The regulation 2 metres should suffice.

It depends on how big they will grow.  ;)

They are only small. One is 1.35 m the other ,red one is smaller .they grow to 1.50 m.

spread is 2 m

Holes are roughly 3.5 a 4 meters apart

At a guess, if one is male and the other is female, then pretty close. But if of the same sex,  use your own judgement !

Thanks Brew I have saved it for future reference. Think we are placing them correctly because they prefer half sun / shade. Facing south we have sun early morning then the area will be in shade in the afternoon shaded by my daughters house
