Unmade Marian 26
Wow, well done MargieH. I was aware of some of them but the knowledge you have is impressive.
MargieH 7,600
@Unmade Marian I only knew four of them and looked up the others!
MRS B 517
I was a massive fan of Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Queen. What great songwriters. Also The Bee Gees, used to have a photo of Barry on the inside of my wardrobe door, very retro. Before the pandemic went to see Barry (on his own obvs) and Paul Simon. Paul wasn’t that brilliant I have to say but Barry was good. Also Fleetwood Mac who were amazing and very lucky to see all the original members, before Buckingham left. Have seen Queen many times with Freddie, Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert (he is so good). Rodders of course is the ultimate showman.

Not the originals Mrs B. Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer were the true originals. The line up you are talking about didn't happen until mid 70's - a mere 47 years ago!!!!
MRS B 517
Ooh sorry second originals. Mid seventies I would have been coming up to 20 so that’s the set up I remember.
philmayfield 6,123
Someone once told me that the members of Fleetwood Mac used to work for Mac Fisheries in Fleetwood and I believed that for years!

Some of the people who used to generate/create new material have either disappeared or lost interest. Other members log in, see nothing new since their last visit, and go away again. The site drops into a vicious circle. And that doesn’t generate any new material, nor does it resurrect older posts. The majority of visitors are browsers who might occasionally make a comment; but mostly they just look at what other people say, and that doesn't move the site forwards.
loppylugs 8,429
Haven't seen anything of Eyeupmeducks for a while. Sent him a couple of e-mails over Christmas and new year. No response. Hoping he's ok. If you read this John geeuz a shout.
Cliff Ton 10,464
Nice to see normal service has been resumed after the outage a few days ago. We seem to be operating on the basis of 'one week on, a few days off'.
Beekay 5,141
Are we on a week off at the moment then CT.? I'm still sitting here on the subs bench though.
PeverilPeril 3,281
I've been a bit busy with various projects to post anything. Also rowed about 150 miles and cycled 500 miles on the indoor machines so far this year.
Cliff Ton 10,464
Nice to see a few signs of life. You know things are a bit dull when the highlight of the day is 'Keep One Drop One'.
MRS B 517
I’ve been thinking where’s everybody gone for a couple of days, (obvs we’ve all been busy!) have collected my seed potatoes this morning which are now sitting in egg trays ready to chit. 40 Charlottes to be divided between 5 blue IKEA bags in March. Also some Red Baron and Centurion onions, some of which I will put in my polytunnel next to the garlic which is doing well now. Too cold and wet to plant any outside at the moment.
The Pianoman 1,532
It's the time of year. Some find January the most depressing month, for me it's February.
Cliff Ton 10,464
Logging in around 8.30 this morning, I saw what may be a new record. Of those 51 Guests, at least 45 of them were Bots and not real people.
MargieH 7,600
I suppose the bots are collecting information for the AI companies to use? Someone I know has registered with one of the AI sites and he showed me what it could do. Firstly he asked it to produce a short sermon on love and redemption. It took only a few seconds to do this and, in my opinion, it was really good. I then asked it to create a poem on seaside holidays in the 1950s. This took a little longer - about 15 seconds - presumably because it had to be a rhyming poem. It was excellent!! I haven’t registered on the site because even though it’s very clever stuff, it worries me…… I expect schoolkids will try make good use of it to write their essays though! Apparently you can ask it to write in the style of a 10 year old for example. It doesn’t use straight ‘copy and paste’ btw but amalgamates all the information it has accumulated to create something completely new. Scary ….

Cliff Ton 10,464
The AI thing which I suspect Margie was referring to is called ChatGPT. You can look at it or play around with it. https://www.zdnet.com/article/what-is-chatgpt-and-why-does-it-matter-heres-everything-you-need-to-know/
MargieH 7,600
The one I was shown is different. I think it was chat.openai.com or something like that There is also another one called Jasper, which annoyingly now keeps popping up on my Facebook newsfeed!
Cliff Ton 10,464
Maybe the previous post wasn't by MargieH......maybe someone used a Chatbot and said "Type me a reply in the style of MargieH". Maybe I didn't write this.
MargieH 7,600
I’d better change my style! Don’t want any nosybots looking at what I write but of course I can’t stop them! As I said before - it’s scary …..
