That's what I remember of it, fogrider. I frequented it regularly with mrs WW-to-be in '70/'71 after evenings out and on our way home (via a secret lay-by).
AlanB 13
There was the Kardomah on King Street. My Dad worked in an office a few doors away and used to take us there.
DJ360 6,721
I can't get past the idea there were two Kardomah's. One somewhere off Parliament St. Upstairs as I recall.. but my recall of Nottm streets is fading fast. We were fab and trendy around 66-68 and drank Lemon Tea . I've done a bit of digging in old phone books..... In 1958, there was one, at 28 Clumber Street. In 1964 there were two, 30 Market Street and 12 King Street.
DJ360 6,721
I think the one in Market Strteet is where we went a lot in the late 60s. I seem to recall a cinema a little lower down on the orther side. Cannon?
Cliff Ton 10,454
The little cinema on Market Street was on the left (looking up) near the top. When I was young it was the Scala, and later became the Classic.
Deeps 68
Wasn't there a Bohemia/n at the top of Hockley? You had to go upstairs to get to it. Frequented it regularly 62/
philmayfield 6,115
I vaguely remember something of a similar name. Was it above Bells, the stationers shop and didn’t those shop premises subsequently become a restaurant whose name escapes me? I've just discovered it was over the Three Tuns pub on Fletcher Gate. Alpha 176
Deeps, yes! it was the BO. A few of us used to visit the BO for a coffee and sit there glancing through motor cycle magazines. I think around 1958/60. Time flies but memories remain.
Brew 5,404
I remember going in a couple of times with my best friend and feeling very out of our depth. Hot chocolate 1 shilling and served in those bowl type cups popular in coffee houses, very posh to a pair of snotty nosed 14yr olds.

Brew 5,404
The MooCow had a record on the jukebox called City of Tears. The motorbikers put threepence in, press the button then dash out to their bikes. The idea was race up Arkwright St round the turn at Trent Bridge and back before the record ended - it did not go well.
Cliff Ton 10,454
.....and an interesting selection of motor bikes.

Cliff Ton 10,454
Looking again at the photo of the Moo Cow, I also remember passing the shop next door - Blakes Medical Stores - which had all kinds of strange, peculiar objects for sale in the window - most of which I didn't understand.
