benjamin1945 16,139 Posted August 30, 2020 Report Share Posted August 30, 2020 Sad to say iv'e only found out today that ex England,,Yorkshire,,Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Cricketer passed away back in May... Yorkshireman (Leeds) Brian Bolus was a great servant of Notts Cricket,,playing for us in the 60s and 70s,,,excellent opening batsman played only a few games for England,,,he was unfortunate to be around the same time as fellow Yorkshireman Geoff Boycott.... I had the good fortune of playing Football against him in the early 70s,,,i was playing for Park Tavern United and he was playing for a team from West Bridgford ,Lady Bay i think in a cup match on Basford United's ground,,,i was set to mark him for the match and gave him plenty of clogg,,,but being the Gent he was came up smiling every time,,and a good handshake at the final whistle,,,.....very nice bloke........... 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
