Cricket lovers will be saddened by the death of Dean Jones an Australian test and one day cricketer who's skills were instrumental in the style of play we see in the short form of cricket today. Passed away from a heart attack aged 59, too young. Another of the sound track of my youth has left us Max Merritt New Zealand born songwriter and guitarist best known for "Slippin Away" by Max Merritt and the Meteors. It was one of the hits from my first year in OZ. He spent some time in the UK backing Slade and The Moody Blues and on the pub circuit around London in the early 70's.
