notty ash 370
Interesting and informative PDF on the Nottingham Canal here http://www.gwoodward.co.uk/nottinghamcanal.pdf?fbclid=IwAR0_JP4CQ3sUj1-fKzhaAC_N1VkJZkmHu1aIhWAtmPVErgIGzrVzmBEA0Xc
Cliff Ton 10,435
A lot to read there, but certainly worth looking at. Somebody took a lot of time putting that together.
Beekay 5,094
A brilliant read N A., I've just spent well over an hour digesting it and drooling over the pictures. Parts of it, as in #43 I can remember walking along that stretch of towpath, (not 1920 of course) also the area around lock 6, which was where Wollaton Road Bridge is. It all came flooding back. As 12/13yr olds, we used walk up the towpath toward Wollaton colliery where we used to swim in the outfall of warm water ran into the canal. It was known as the 'Ottis for some reason. Many thanks for the post and blast from the past.
