But BK many people like them, including lots of children.  I like the big

eyes ....

That Margie, is the main reason I detest them. Plus the crude animation, especially when watching them talk.

DJ360  just noticed what you have under your photo  "The time has come" the Walrus said   Is this quote from "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll ?

I seem to remember that Alice met a Walrus on a beach.

I was given for my birthday when knee-high a little book of Fairys.

Each page had a fairy for each month of the year with a little poem, all I remember is January fairy was holding a snowdrop.

If any member ever comes across this book please obtain it if you can and hopfully  I will pick it up at one of our meet ups.

Gosh!!! radfordred its a great book where did you get it from please, the little story behind my book is very nastagia when ever I went to visit my Aunty Olive and Uncle Earnie, my uncle Earnie would allways tell me about the fairys that lived at the bottom of the garden and say that each fairy was named after a month in the year. Being very young I belived him and always looked for these Fairys.  Oh !!! and by the way Earnie did not drive the fastest milkcart in the west, but boy did he make your windows nice and shiny.

Just one more thing we all  lived in terrace house,s so non of us had gardens.

I just remembered it as part of a nonsense poem written by Lewis Carrol, but it seems you are correct Mary. It is recited by Tweedledum and Tweedledee to Alice in 'Through the Looking Glass'.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walrus_and_the_Carpenter

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
    "To talk of many things:
Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax
    Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
    And whether pigs have wings."

It reminds me a bit of another nonsense poem or two from my youth.. though I don't know if they are from known writers.

The Elephant is a pretty bird,

It flits from bough to bough,

It makes its nest in a rhubarb tree,

And whistles like a cow.

And:

One dark night in Septober,

When the snow was raining fast,

A bare footed girl with clogs on,

Stood sitting in the grass.

Nonsense poem from my school days:

One fine day in the middle of the night

Two dead men got up to fight

Back to back they faced each other

Drew their swords and shot each other..

Don't blame me!...

Twas a fine October morning in April last July.

The sun lay thick upon the ground the snow shone in the sky.

The flowers were singing sweetly the birds were in full bloom.

As I went down the cellar steps to sweep the attic room.

Once on a dark and stormy night,

Two bold robbers sat in a cave,

One said to t'other "Tell us a tale!",

And so he did.. and it went like this....
