does anyone know how to tune up a disability scooter  Ii have seen one on you tube ,electric powered that will do 0 to 60 mph in two seconds and close to 90 mph .I fancy a bit of that I,ve bought a pride colt to play with its 24 volt but the ECU is kaput I am trying to find an uprated one and motor with no engine brake ,any ideas?

Swe62, why on earth would you want to speed up a mob.scooter? Wouldn't it be easier to get a "ride on" lawn mower and tart that up. We used to have a neighbour, who's son races lawn mowers and won many prizes.

The motors are DC so voltage is the easiest way to control the speed though those scooters probably have some way of controlling the field current.

There must be hundreds of sites that tell you how, Google is your friend.

mowers are too noisy for a play thing ,its just a whim

Another project for yuz to consider, why not build yerself a garden railway. A 5" gauge, passenger carrying train would be a perfect idea. Yuz could add a station and other buildings etc. Depends on how big yer estate is. thumbsup

I use a Honda quad bike round our mini estate. I can get it up to 30mph in the meadow and can do turns on two wheels and wheelies. Not really appropriate for someone of my age though!
