Marion Docherty 1
Does anyone remember going to a concert at the Theatre Royal 1968 or 69 where the bill consisted of Amen Corner, The Move, The Nice, Pink Floyd and headlined with Jimi Hendrix?
Cliff Ton 10,435
There are several old threads here which mention Jimi Hendrix. https://nottstalgia.com/forums/search/?q=hendrix&quick=1 It may take a while but if you trawl through them you'll probably find more information on the Theatre Royal gig. Marion Docherty 1
That will be the one thank you. I remember it cost me just under ten shillings for which I had to save my pocket money for weeks to go! Fantastic concert though rather an odd line up. I went to see Hendrix and he didn’t disappoint
DAVIDW 1,674
I've mentioned it before that we went to see the three first acts on that bill , but earlier in May 1967 at the Spalding Bulb Hall . In addition Cream and Geno Washington were on the bill . We didnt stay to see all the acts !

Jill Sparrow 10,267
Just being pedantic but isn't 12pm midday? Did people really stay up that late to dance in those days?
katyjay 5,085
Wonder why they just didn't put Noon til Midnight. Seems easier.

Eire Apparent was Henry McCulloch's band, later to find fame as a member of Wings as well as appearing at Woodstock (plus the film) as a member of Joe Cocker's Grease Band. Their only album was produced by Hendrix, as well as him playing on it. Can't say I've heard it but I do own most of the contemporary material issued by the rest of those acts, with the exception of Amen Corner who evidently were not influenced by the other bands on the bill, seeing the direction they'd take the following year. Regrettably, a time before I was born. Count yourselves extremely lucky if you were born in the mid-40s-early 50s. 1
