MRS B 490
Did there used to be a cinema on Radcliffe Road WB as you go up towards Trent Bridge on the left hand side? The current noise of the rain (golly we need it!) reminded me of going to watch something there and hearing torrential rain as we were watching the movie and then coming out afterwards and it was absolutely flooded. Would be around the late 60’s, early 70’s. Mrs B
Cliff Ton 10,435
I guess you're referring to this stretch of road https://goo.gl/maps/GLSc4Xas8wyoWv4WA I fairly sure there's never been a cinema along there.

MRS B 490
Cliff Ton you’re right with the road. I obviously have the cinema location wrong. The only cinema ever to be in WB apparently was the Tudor on the corner of Central Ave and Rectory Road and it was demolished in 1959. Hence Tudor Square being named after it. Apparently it was the first cinema in the Nottingham area to show “talkies”.
Cliff Ton 10,435
There were also a couple of cinemas on the edge of The Meadows on the other side of Trent Bridge, which might be what you're remembering.
denshaw 2,869
The Globe was near Trent Bridge but I think that closed early sixties.
Cliff Ton 10,435
The Globe, as mentioned by denshaw. The building remained empty for quite a while after it closed as a cinema. http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/45084
denshaw 2,869
Looking at that picture you can see Boots chemist on the left, it is still there today as The Embankment.
