philmayfield 5,513
There's plenty of spare rooms at Balmoral to house those who arrive in inflatables to contribute to the British economy. Even more at Windsor. Or, conversely, why aren't those people marching in fancy uniforms, manning the coastline to repel the invaders?

Cliff Ton 10,009
So many people were watching the plane journey that the flight-tracking website set a new record for users. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62900494
Stuart.C 430
I followed the C17a from when it was near to landing at Edinburgh, caught it by chance. Then later as it took off, then again as it neared Northolt to land, but didn't follow the middle bit of the flight.
Beekay 4,403
What's the procedure for that then Stuart? How does one get the info? I assume it's an app or something.
Rob.L 1,049
HTTPS://www.Flightradar24.com is the app/webpage most people use.
LizzieM 9,272
I first tried to get on Flight Radar but it was too busy so I then found another site, I think it was ‘Plane Finder’ and followed it from take-off and disappointingly going way west of Nottingham before turning towards Northants. A friend of ours took a photo of the plane going over his house in Northants. When Charles flew from Scotland to Northolt to receive Diana’s coffin from Paris we did see his plane going over our house in Hertfordshire. It’s a simple pleasure of mine, plane watching! RadFordee 66
Each and everyone of those eight young men deserve the utmost respect and admiration, what a mammoth task to have to perform under the gaze of the world, which they did faultlessly. They are no doubt the pride of their regiment and their families and rightly so. Upholding the traditions & standards of the British services to their very best. 2

mary1947 1,908
The 2nd time that I saw the Queen, was at New Market. My father in law used to enjoy going to race meetings one day he ask if master and I would like to go to New Market race's with him. So leaving the boys with my mother in law, off we went. When we arrived one of the men who was taken the tickets was one of my uncles he ask me how many people there were when i said only 3, he said "come on I'll let you go in the paddock slde". For those who don't know thia is where they parade the horse's. We stood there looking at the horse's and who should come into the paddock but the Queen she smiled and wave to us. On that day she had two horses running. My father in law just said if you want to win some money put a bet on both horse's this we did, and one came in first, it was the first time that we had ever won anything.
