True enough but none quite so 'in your face' or as blatant. To paraphrase Mone "I didn't lie to hide the the fact we're making £60 million and hiding it in a trust, it was to to protect my family

Why do you feel the need to influence others? What is your motivation for so doing? Is it because you think you know better than they? Is it because it feeds your ego if and when you succeed?  Is it b

I've just been sent a a clip of Trumps spiritual advisor praying for victory. Apparently angels from Africa and South America are on their way..

Trump is looking increasingly pathetic.  I've seen more Statesmanlike performances from George Formby.

If he had an ounce of integrity he would be telling his supporters to stop acting like some sort of private Militia and show some dignity in defeat.

The concern now is how much damage he can do before he is dragged kicking and screaming from the White House.

Does he really believe there is any point starting this legal action to stop the count?

I wonder if he's counting on his new appointee (Coney), to find in his favour? According to the Guardian has said so but I can't find any other reference...

We all call him stupid but he must have a degree of low cunning to recognise the possibility of a disputed result and has tried to load the dice in his favour. He's insufferable now, imagine if the actually pulls it off!

Col, have you seen the fb video where he(a look alike)  is having a tantrum on the floor of the White House and is being dragged out by a group of aides, screaming “”I don’t wanna go” over and over again?

This why i detest Social media fake news..

Creates the impression that there is a 'shaman' like character within the White House today looking to a higher divinity.

This video is from last March!!

Just shows that there is an element of all inclusiveness....

Has anybody watched any of the left evangelist's?..no different.

Some of the Black Lives Matter brigade would give her a run for her money!

I have a laugh at the assorted Fb stuff but none of it does anything other than reinforce the view of Trump which I formed long before he was elected.

I still maintain that anyone listening to the self-promoting, egotistical, illogical, racist, divisive, inaccurate, anti-democratic, confused, inconsistent, contradictory, beligerent, naive, childish, spoilt, entitled, petulant (etc.,etc.,etc.,) ravings of this lunatic.. needs to have a serious word with themselves.

Hi Margie,

I've seen all sorts. As above I find them mostly amusing, but I don't need them as I already had Trump 'sussed' long before he was elected.

As for not wanting to go.  I see several levels within that:

1. He is deluded by his disordered personality and therefore genuinely believes he is beyond criticism and therefore could not possibly lose.

2. He therefore genuinely believes he has been 'robbed'.

3. Irrespective of either 1, or 2. .he knows he is ruined. He is already reportedly in huge debt. Add in that once out of  office, he is very vulnerable to all sorts of litigation, which might even involve Prison.  He is terrified.

You'd think that someone in his position would be pursuing some sort of 'deal' for a Pardon from Biden, in exchange for conceding without more fuss.  That of course shouldn't be necessary if US Democracy was functioning correctly, but it does seem to be the 'Realpolitik' applying.

Every clip I've found says November 4th... where did you see March?  Does the timing make it any less extraodinary?

...and another thing!!!

I'd argue that 'regular' Republican Politicians.. as opposed to the classic grey bearded ageing biker redneck Trumpista... are increasingly coming to the realisation that it is time to cut their losses, disassociate themselves from Trump and his poisonous inner circle, and start rebuilding for a future starting at the very earliest 4 years hence.

It is increasingly clear, even in the language used by assorted news outlets, that there are THREE groups in play here.  Democrats, Republicans, and lastly Trump Supporters.

I gave an answer to the way most average Americans seem to think the other day so will not repeat them again.

Neither am I about to dispute the emotive words used above.  It does, however, lead me to ask.  Do you have an intimate aquaintance with this man to so describe him, or are you merely repeating the words of the media who have hated him before he was even elected the first time?

Please remember, I don't even have a dog in this fight I am ineiigable to vote here.

I only saw bits of the second debate as I passed quickly by the tv but it seemed to be Mr. Biden who was using insulting language and personal insults towards Trump, who seemed to be handling himself quite well.

Over the last few weeks I have begun to feel genuinely sorry for Mr. Biden who often appears to be in the early stages of dementia.  I have come to believe that the poor man is being used to open the door to the presidency.  After a while he will be cast aside in favor of his running mate.  God help America.

Would you prefer a communist dictatorship?  There will be no criticisin of the leader then.

My heart is bleeding for what is happening to my adopted country, and that is not some kind of emotive cliche.

I respect your right to your opinions, Col, but I think your words in the above quote go beyond the English standards of fairness with which our generation was brought up.

I think one should have at the very least some kind of consultant qualification in psychiatry before one starts making diagnoses of mental illness and lunacy, to use a very outmoded term.  To my limited knowledge, no one on this site possesses such.   Even if they did, surely it would have been necessary to have met the patient?

HSR: Well we'll have to disagree on the date.

You imply it's 'ordinary' for the bible belt, maybe so but it's exraordinary performance to anyone not brought up in some of the extremist so called churches where money and outlandish behaviour are a gateway to heaven...

-ista is a proper word ending... look it up

I agree with you LL but both Col and I plus others on this site are at times guilty of hyperbole when expressing our opinions. I can't speak for Col but for myself it expresses a depth of feeling. I try to restrict myself and keep my language reasonable but I do sometimes think I go 'over the top'.

It's good  we have more sane people to pull us back into line...
