Oztalgian 3,217
The soundtrack of my youth has gone immeasurably quieter following the death of Gordon Lightfoot. His songs that impacted my life are too many to mention, the foremost being the classic, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. you could almost feel the fear of those that perished in the words of the song. The Canadian Railroad Trilogy was another story song. Early Morning Rain was another favourite of mine especially sung by PP&M. Who could forget If You Could Read My Mind, probably his best known hit. Sundown was another classic. His songs were covered by many famous names I will be listening to his words and music tonight as I remember Gordon Lightfoot.
