To requests for me mam to do things would be met with the response "I'm not your slave, you know", or "What did your last slave die of".

Spelling in following? Me mam used to go "Up th'obbocks" I can't remember where that was.

A place we used to go for a walk was "Up Jonahs". Land at the back of Sandfield Road in Arnold.

£10 to fill up the car! it was about 6/8 a gallon when I was first driving - that's £2/13/4 per 8 gallon tankful!

I used to fill the cylinders with Redex and start the engine. It smoked like a factory chimney (Anyone remember them?) but it cleared out all the gubbins from the cylinders.
