FLY2 10,108
Definitely some obscure ones there, but we all had fun in our childhood. Yes, mucky knees, cuts grazes, head bumps, did we complain. No never.

broxtowelad 175
Did anybody do "Spirit Tapping"? That was when you tied thread to the iron door knockers of two houses on opposite sides of the street and then hid and waited for a passing car to break the thread. That was a game for dark nights. Cliff Ton 10,465
I remember "Spirit Tapping"; but I think in my part of the world it involved knocking on doors (or throwing something at a door) and then running away.
redbowen 131
Ithought that knocking on doors and running away was called "ratatat ginger"

DaveN 1,118
#95 Margie, "Husky Bum" was a game involving jumping on the backs of a team which were leaning against a wall. In Derbyshire it was known as "Rusty Bum"
Michael Booth 7,364
In Derby it's a different game altogether.
Chulla 4,946
#95. Two teams. One had someone lean with back against wall. The next lad bent down and had his head between first lad's legs. The rest then had their heads between the legs (under their bums)until a line of lads formed with their backs making a line that the other team's lads could take a run and jump onto. The line of crouched lads had to hold fast when all the weight was on them. The runner would vault over the first ones to get as near to the one standing. Some would shout 'Rum stick a bum, here I come' and sometimes followed by 'with my finger up my bum'. Used to play this against the wall of the lads lavatory at Crane School.

Oztalgian 3,291
DaveN #118 I remember it as Husky Fusky. It was not uncommon to have the fire brigade at school to have the head of the poor b*gger at the front of the line removed from between the school railings.
