A lost Language

One of the girls in the office mentioned about doing something.

"PUDDYWINKS" I said.

She did not understand?

Do you remember the term being used, and its meaning?

What other terms did we use then, that have fallen by the wayside today?

Ayup Mick,

I remember the term Puddywinks, You'd say that if anyone asked you to do something you considered easy. Today you're more likely to hear "No problem" or "Yeh it's a doddle" and what about "SOZ" instead of sorry, Jeez can't these yungans speek proper Inglish.

Who remembers Diddlum and Fuddle?

I worked in a big office in the 60's. We always seemed to be saving for something or other. Someone would be in charge and collect the money each week. If we were saving for a party, or a meal, we'd have a Fuddle to save up for it. If we wanted to have just a savings club, for Xmas or something, then it was a Diddlum. Those were the days when everyone got paid weekly, in cash, so no cheque books, credit cards or anything. You saved up the cash for everything you wanted.
