Things you don't see anymore

Come to think of it. To posh for us as well. There was some resemblence to both sets of Grandparents homes. One a semi detached council home in Carlton and one a Terraced House in St Annes area. The furnishings and Kitchen looked similar, but no bathroom and inside toilet for us. I noticed that there weren't any Army Blankets or Coats on the beds either. Mmm, Far to posh for the average family.

Me mam sed she int in mester !

My mam sent me to the door often to get rid of people........I used to say, "me mam says she's not in" and I'd get a clout.......

The man from the Pru.....

Our dog chased one up the terrace once, ripped the ar*@ out of his trousers, was funny at the time, but Dad wasn't too pleased when he got the bill for a new pair of trousers...LOL

Dahn the Medders a kitchen was upmarket, we had a 'scullery'. Still, it didn't have the lavatory right next to it!

There used to be a café coach stop on the way to the east coast at Wragby, not far from the level crossing. Was it the George's Inn café?
