katyjay 5,085
A bit late, but I found out the old People's College Technical school was on College St, between the Cathedral and The Ropewalk.
Ayupmeducks 1,730
Wasn't the Tech supposed to have HNC Mick?? Plus so many years on the tools. J.Jones went under that scheme when I went to work for them as an electrical fitter after I'd completed my NCB appreniticeship. I can't remember now whether they signed me up as elec or approved. Too long back now. It was the only company I worked for on that scheme.

mick2me 3,033
I visited said emporium the other night. Left Sam my emaill address to forward images of the old signs.
Craig Strongman 13
I called in for a quick Biriani last night.Sam has had a new sign put up. In taking down the old sign, they uncovered the old "Curry & Grill" sign. Also under that was another Sign with a different name. Does anyone know what it was called before "The Curry & Grill"? Sam photographed both signs and will let me have a copy, which I will post. I used to go there! At the time a guy id befriended who worked at the Noor Jahan (when it was still a really posh place) took me and the then missus. There was an Italian guy who used to sleep under where the sink was! I obviously didnt have that much taste back then, as i actually chose to have my 21st party there, having said that, the food was good, if not the surroundings, and of course back then you could park right outside.
