Muggins 'ere was sat aboard...got off at Loughborough...

Couldn't resist the last ever Vic' departure and the trip through Thurland St Tunnel

The Rugby service then ran on for a few more months, terminating at Arkwright Street.

The classic scenario of rail authorities progressively reducing services down to a trickle, as they seek closure.

AKA The 'Boiling Frog' syndrome..

Cheers

And what a fantastic idea to have a train station in the middle of the city of Nottingham.

Would have solved all of todays parking problems.

Mick - I was just thinking exactly the same thing. If they had kept even a trimmed down version of Vic station, and the lines, there would be a quick, efficient, system to get folks into Nottingham without having to rebuild the tram system. It would have saved millions!

I bet there are a number of cities and towns in England wishing the rail system had not been so badly dismembered!
