He never went away - just look around you, who else could maintain a following such as he has 30 years after is death, this weekend on BBC 1 there is a programme about Elvis impersonators, not bad to have such a following eh.

He was one of the greatest entertainers of our time!!!!!!

Wasn't it worked out once ,that at the rate Elvis Aaron (the king) Presley impersonators are multiplying ,that by 2015 every one in the world would be an Elvis impersonator by then.LOL

There was only one real Elvis and that was the one who made all the recordings in the 50's - - - ignore all impersonaters including himself from the moment that Hollywood got its hands on him. It was all down hill from there on.

Elvis Presley in 1977 - He does look sick and a tragic figure and is struggling to sing. Two months later, he was gone. His music will stay on for ever.

This song was sung on June 20th 1977 and Elvis died on the 18th of August 1977.

Two weeks prior of this song coming out, he sang it for the first time in public. You could see that he was not well.
