radfordred 6,284
is it dave clark 5 / you've got what it takes ? try this one my favorite It's just gone noon Half past monsoon On the banks of the river Nile Here comes the boat Only half-afloat Oarsman grins a toothless smile Only just one more To this desolate shore Last boat along the river Nile Doesn't seem to care No more wind in his hair As he reaches his last half mile The oar snaps in his hand Before he reaches dry land But the sound doesn't deafen his smile Just pokes at wet sand With an oar in his hand Floats off down the river Nile Floats off down the river Nile
Bip 88
B) Sorry Caz :o :D B) There has been a number of artists that have recorded this song over the years and i think the original singer was Mary Johnson, R'n'B singer, don't know the year. Theres always another corner to turn.. B) I'm hoping the answer you are seeking is the DAVE CLARK FIVE, or it could be but i doubt it being SHOWADDYWADDY in 1977 or even JOHNNY KIDD & THE PIRATES ? Yes/No ? Radfordred beat me to it dammmm Come to think about it being a Moderator i could have deleted his reply
Bip 88
B) Who sang this then A B) Happy talk keep talkin' happy talk Talk about things you'd like to do. You gotta have a dream if you don't have a dream How you gonna have a dream come true? Talk about a moon floatin' in the sky Lookin' like a lily on a lake; Talk about a bird learnin' how to fly Makin' all the music he can make. Happy talk keep talkin' happy talk . . . Let's talk about a star lookin' like a toy Peekin' through the branches of a tree; Talk about a girl talk about a boy Countin' all the ripples on the sea. Happy talk keep talkin' happy talk . . . Talk about a boy sayin' to the girl: Golly, Baby ! I'm a lucky cuss ! Talk about a girl sayin' to the boy: 'You and me are lucky to be us !" Happy talk keep talkin' happy talk . . . If you don't talk happy and you never have a dream Then you'll never have a dream come true !
