darkazana 1,736
My first car was an old F reg mini....F reg as in the last letter not the first. It was Mums car but she never drove it so I paid for the upkeep and used it. Great little car. Blue. Had a quirky way of starting it due to some underlying problem. It would stall when it stopped and I would have to leap out, open the bonnet and restart it by pressing a solenoid button. A bit embarrassing at times but not too bad apart from the time in Trinity Car park when I forgot to take it out of gear, it started and proceeded to move forward. I was pushing on the bonnet to try and stop it (I was only 18) and a man jumped in and put the brake on....Don't know who he was but Thanks!!!!! Had many adventures in that car and travelled many miles, many more stories about it. Loved it to bits
fch782c 144
Its far more embarrassing having to use a starting handle is i often did with my old Moggy making sure to keep your thumb out of the way and not to park nose to kerb or you lost the skin off your knuckles

mick2me 3,033
The MG went to an avid collector in Wales; here's hoping she's still gracing the lanes Can you remember the Reg # Jackson, maybe we can find out?
siddha 822
In 1967 my first car was a 1933 Wolsey Hornet, a brilliant machine with hydraulic brakes. Broke a half shaft outside a girlfriend's flat in Mapperley so it was scrapped. Couldn't fix it hadn't the skills in those days. Wish I had it now!
VWGolf 21
First and third car was a Hillman Imp with rear engine and mostly no synchromesh on the gears, in fact often no gears. Notorious for blowing head gaskets. Ford Anglia was my second. Moved on to a Ford Capri - very glamourous at the time. Several VW Golfs over the years, including a short period with a supercharged, left hand drive G60 - my favourite of all the cars. Sadly blew up the hydraulics on my last Golf, and a kind friend gave me his Ford Mondeo. Nice enough car, but exciting it is not. Now saving my pennies for the next one - can't make up my mind between an Audi R8 or a Jaguar F-type. <g> Perhaps both if I save enough pennies ....</wishful thinking mode>

fch782c 144
http://www.netcarshow.com/bmw/1940-328_kamm_coupe/800x600/wallpaper_01.htm My reason being that in 1940 Britain were in the grip of WW2 and very little vehicle production took place unless it was for military use. Even in Germany Volkswagen ceased production of the Beetle. Only 12 months out but if we're going to be pedantic about it. In 1940 BMW introduced the 328 Kamm Coupé see link above
