Personally Mick I’ve stopped welcoming new members only because the majority don’t post anywaysup.

By the way I’m not in Nottingham tonight, do you and the gaffer fancy going to the Shaftsbury tonight?

You could always rename the section to 'New to Nottstalgia', and make it a place where new members introduce themselves. This is what happens on another forum I use.

The onus would then be on them to post rather than you having to welcome them. You could maybe set up a message directing them to the section when you authorise their account.
