Around 1969, I used to go to a disco at the Union Stewards Pub in St Anns.

There was a guy wo ran mobile discos that did it He was quite old probably in his 60's then.

He was not the DJ just the owner.

He had a shock of Grey hair and a grey handlebar moustache?

Perhaps Craig will know him?

I used to occassionly go to the Union Stewards Club around 69-71. I usually went a couple of pints late on. I can't remember the DJ you mention, but it was a long time ago.

Sounds like it might have been George Pickard.

He described himself as a 'freelance welder', but was also a demonstration trampolinist and had an interest in Discos. He once asked me to work for him but I was busy with the 360 Club stuff.

Thanks Col

Could be but I never knew a name, I can still recall his face.

Do you know any more about him?

Not really. I do remember seeing him once somewhere like Wollaton Park doing a trampolining demo. Also saw him doing some steelwork for alterations to what I think was the old Empire Theatre around late 60's. Difficult to miss him really. Definitely a bit of a character.

I'll try to remember to ask Dave Pickering if he knows any more.
