Simons was the art teacher What happened to him?

Wasn't afraid to use the cane, like many at TB.

I remember him handing out blank pieces of paper for art work, with th instruction to do a rough sketch on the rear first. One boy turned the blank sheet over before starting his rough sketch. Stupid Boy! :o

Can you remember the amazing illustrated county maps he used to draw. Signed "J.B.Simons" I would love to get my hands on one nowadays. Ebay is negative.

I'm bumping this.

Does anyone remember those illustrated maps he used to draw.

He signed them. Who did he sell them to for publication?

They were in the style of John Speeds maps.

In 1964 I was in the fifth form undertaking GCE Art ( failed)

I remember quite well drawing a large picture of 'Nottinghamshire' and inserting pictures of for eg Wollaton Hall, Trent Bridge

to show and illustrate certain areas.Similat to the JS's map drawings. Mr Simons signed in J B Simons- had it for years before destroyed it.

I liked Mr Simons- lived at East Leake and had I think a small red care.

Happy New year to all

Kind regards

Tony
