s14.jpgSure i remember this bloke..they were'nt all bible bashers..many speakers..and a few women spoke of the" danger of Thatcher and everyone buying their council houses...and no more social housing being built..industry going out to foreign shores or finishing..leaving generations north of Britain without employment and kids and grandkids..never knowing work or wages"...bleddy hell..he had a crystal ball- that fella.

Shows how things worked with greedy planners and Councils..only supermarket for years was Tesco in Vic Centre. Co op food hall was tiny..that went..Littlewoods went..Safeway went..Marks & Sparks..dint do normal grub. When Sainsbury left Broadmarsh to go to the Canal area..a deal was struck NOT to put another Supermarket in it's place..took them a few years to realise they'd dropped a bollock..when the £ shops expanded their range.Aldi is just out of Vic Centre now..and small versions of high st.Supermarkets are dotted about. ( Akin)...to other things?..

I am still of this opinion..a full shop in Nottm City Centre is tricky..and car user engineered.
