(Steve, please try and keep expletives off your posts please, we have youngsters reading the forums.

Thanks. John)

If any of you ever come to live in Australia,Melbourne is the place to avoid like the plague!

I have never encountered so many racist bigots .They hate pommies with a vengeance.

Now Adelaide,-that is a city not founded by pommie convicts and is just the opposite. Its really strange how much underlying dislike there is between Victorians andSouth Australians.(bit like the north south divide in the UK only a thousand times worse.

Melbourne is a Georgian market town (population 5,000) in South Derbyshire, England. It is about eight miles south of Derby and two miles from the River Trent.[1] In 1837 a then tiny settlement in Australia was named after William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne, Queen Victoria's first Prime Minister, and thus indirectly takes its name from Melbourne Hall, seat of the Lamb family, and the village.

Incidentally there is a Melboune in Arkansas.

Did you know that the reason why

there are so many people from Melbourne ,Derbys. in Australia? Its because Thomas Cook was born there and had to make a living .
