Hoodies target Hood?

Didn't think I was dreaming when I believed that RH had a 'string' to his bow back in the early days.

Any photograph of late does not have the 'string', just the drawn bow and arrow - surely the 'string' (metal rods) was not worth souveniring!

If they hadn't done that someone would have nicked the whole statue and weighed it in.

Why? there wasn't any pikies around at that time ;)

Although I do know the arrow has been nicked a few times

Do they actually weld it on? It gets stolen so often it makes you wonder if it is just rested on his bow! Why not electrify it and be done.

That auction used to be originally in the car park on the other side of the river near the pub barge just off Beastmarket Hill. It was always known as 'On the Hill'. Since it moved over the road into the other car park I think it's got bigger. Lots of 'stolen' bicycles and, as you say say, loads of tat. You can even buy a plank of wood! I've not been for a while but it was always fascinating.
