His memory was poor but one day a doctor was speaking to him about his life but was getting very little response. The doctor then asked him if he'd ever been in the Army and the husband, without hesitation, shouted out his name, rank and number. Isn't it amazing how he could remember after all those years. Couldnt tell you mine at the moment Funny about that cos the only number plater i can remember is my dads first austin a 70 which was scrapped in the early 60's ( MOC 851) its took us everywhere for about 10 years that i remember , day trips to Skeggie holidays to Scotland ( he was Scottish) My brother even used it on his honeymoon. sigh! petrol was 2/6 a gallon . no speed traps and not to many other cars on the road 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

The rule was that I had to start with seeing a '1' on its own and I could only count the numbers as I saw them in order. (So if I saw a '10' before I'd seen a '9' it didn't count) Hope I'm making sense here... I got up to 150 by the end of 1999 but when the new numbering system came in, it became more difficult, so I don't do it anymore (although some days I remember and keep my eyes open for a '151'!! ). Anyone know where I can find one? ( I think I'm joking) All this sounds more than a bit OCD, but I'm not really.... 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I still see it on my old pictures, but I can remember it well anyway. 51 years ago where did it go. The time I mean, not the mini. Learned each character, then practiced when sitting in the bathroom, Being polite...) there's always bottles of this and that with labels to convert into Morse. But the best was a 2 litre yellow Capri open top,bucket seats,Domed Bonnett,two seater,.......she was 6 months pregnant but i managed to wedge her in it.................well i had to dint i at £200.........lol. 1 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
