EileenH 496
I have heard it said that the best bits of Derbyshire are in Staffordshire. As a Medders-born and Calverton-raised exile who married into Derby I wouldn't like to comment.
NewBasfordlad 3,599
There's lot of wonderful places in Derbyshire, one of the problems is folks just don't get of the beaten track to enjoy them and that includes the locals. I lived in Buxton from 1967 till 1971 and was a member of DCRO and the moor search team, I soon knew more about the countryside and history of north Derbyshire than my wife to be and she was Buxton born and bred. They seem to be used to the countryside so don't appreciate or explore it as would a townie like me.
