Not in Aus, Kath. Presently living in Georgia USA. Long story. Married in 1965. We were together almost 33 years. We emigrated to Canada in 1970. She died in 1999. I was on my own for two years. Nearly drove me nuts. Re-married a lady from Georgia whose husband had died. Moved down here to escape the VERY cold winters. Been in the US now about 8 years. I became a Canadian citizen and will remain one. If I were to find myself on my own again I would go back there. Two daughters and grandkids still there. I remember Graham Crowe and Richard Anderson quite well. So Mick Mayhew ran Jackie bells for a while eh? Great to touch base after so long.

I wonder if Mick Mehew is my cousin's husband?. His name is John Michael Mehew, married Janet Birch. Mehew is not a very common name I think.

I don't know where he lived before marriage. I do know he had either a scooter or motorbike. Janet lived on Valley Rd, Carlton, the 'Alps' backed on to her back garden, so not sure if she went to Carlton Girls School or not. I do believe Carlton Forum was built on the alps, we used to go blackberrying there before it was built on.

Was the Carlton pub, the one that was in the triangle between Valley Rd and Foxhill Rd? If so, I think it was just across from my aunt and uncle's house.

kp, your gender is male in your profile, I'm pretty sure that's wrong eh? The Michael and Janet Mehew I know have 3 children. Andrew [b1965] Anita [b1966] and Patricia [1967]. I think they still live on Valley Rd. Aunty and Uncle lived at #57 all the while I was growing up. The council moved them into a house a few doors along while the house was modernised, but they decided to stay put after it was finished, and Janet & Mick live in that house now.
