Ashley 288
Like the way this has been included "an appropriate location given that the historic Shire Hall is home to other war memorials and has a key place in the civic history of the city." Am sure they could have found somewhere better to keep it? What's wrong with The Castle or Wollaton Hall?

bamber 128
Well for one it is the Shire Hall so it has had nothing to do with the the administration of the Borough/City of Nottingham for hundreds of years. Until 1974 the Shire Hall was technically in the county which is why there was a County Police station next door. But that's being pedantic. The Galleries of Justice have had a pretty hairy financial record over recent years. What happens if the place has to close down when (not if) another funding crisis comes along? This memorial should have been relocated to the Council House. There will be plenty of room once the shiny arses move down to Loxley House.
Ashley 288
Yes, and no mention of whether or not one would have to enter what is as far as I know a private business? (and pay over £5) to view such
