RESIDENCE:

1881 - Redditch, Worcestershire, England

Difficult without a date of birth

Thanks for that! It was His Father who is James was born in Notts in 1810 and his Grandfather also James!! worked in Drury Hill. this is one of these hard to get info!!

There was a Guild of Cordwainers...A National Union of Cordwainers...and an Amalgamated Cordwainers Association..Some just in London,but it might be another source of information.I would imagine your ancestor was a Guild member.Could be time consuming but may bring up something.

Have you got the approx date/year of birth and spouse name for these James's

We know at least one child was was James, Any More siblings for each?

Incidentally Pooh, my family research show my family in the same trades.

Currier/leather shaver for the males

leather bag maker for the females.

But this was in Southwark, London.
