Merry Christmas, and a big thank you

A very Merry Christmas to all members

Nottstalgia Nottingham Forums are now over six years old,

To date we have 2,079 Members who have made 94,228 posts.

The forum has achieved many things of which I am justly proud.

It has far exceeded what I thought it would when concieved in early 2004.

Members have made contact with old friends, and been able to help

each other. We have been able to help visitors to our city, and I am

sure other things that I have forgotten.

Googling 'Nottingham Forum', or 'Nottingham forums'

now brings us out above all other forums.

I would like to personally give a warm welcome to our newer members,

and a big thank you to our longer established members.

It is only your posts which have established Nottstalgia as a major Internet

resource for Notts recent local history. This is born out by viewing the full list

of site visitors, and what they are reading.

Well done Folks, Your knowledge about Notts makes Nottstalgia what it is today. :)

The past twelve months proved a testing time for Nottstalgia and its staff.

During the past year, Nottstalgia came under threat and attempts at disruption by persons intent

on destroying your site, and preventing us accepting new members.

In fact, it would not exist today if it were not for the staff working day and night behind the

scenes to keep down the foul and malicious posts that were made by the numerouse rogue registrations.

Members will probably not have been aware of the extent disruption attempts, only due to the work carried out behind the scenes by these staff.

Also what members will not know is that

As a result of this work, staff themselves became subject to foul abuse both on and off the board.

Some still receive this abuse directly today.

My thanks go out to them for keeping the site running as normal during the attacks.

I could never have maintained the site without them.

To all members, may I wish you the best of the season, and say

"I hope that today will be as Nottstalgic in future, as yesterday was today".

Merry Christmas all.

Mick

Cheers Mick, I hope you and your family have a great Christmas.

As for this forum it's a wonderful resource for those interested in Nottingham and it's people - you've helped create a mini library on the city we all grew up in.

Christmas 2011, You are still a member of Nottinghams Top Forum,

We are (all) one year older, and the only changes to above are:

Nottstalgia Nottingham Forums are now over seven years old

(2010:) 2,079 Members made 94,228 Posts.

(2011:) 2,722 Members made 107,176 Posts.

We are back to accepting new members manual via self verification of email, instead of waiting for Admin approval.

Kev 'Fynger' & Ian ''Beefsteak' is a welcome additions as site admin.

The above sentiment remains the same

Thanks once again to all members old and new who posted valuable historical notes about Notts and to the Nottstalgia Staff for keeping the board running and on track, despite problems encountered this year.

Merry Christmas all.

Mick
