I used to attend the Playhouse Bar quite often back in the late 1960's.......They were great times.......The usher would allow us into the Green Room on a Saturday Night after the Plays had finished and we would mix with the actors........A lot of them became famous a few years later...., Wilfred Bramble, .Mark McManus, Nicola Pagett, Joanna Lumley, Charlotte Rampling and Robert Powell,.......they were always very friendly and poor, they lived in cheap digs around the Arboretum area........I once dated Robert Powell, he took me to the ABC Cinema and was so hard up I paid for us to see the film, he said that oned day he woud become rich and famous and pay me back, but never did, he went on to marry Babs Lord from Pans People on TOTP's........I wonder if he remembers me now ? - I woudn't think so for one minute, but at least it is my claim to fame.......
