Borrowed this before, from this site. http://www.trolleybus.net/ And I've linked to it before in other threads. This is the trolley turn-around in catfan's photo.

One which hasn't cropped up before. Market Garage on Huntingdon Street / Parliament Street.

Thought people might like this photo of Tyreman Terry's Garage on Glebe Road. I have high resolution copies of the photo if anyone wants one just let me know

Now the car park for the Christian Centre, soon to be the site of a new church for the Christian Centre.

The Christian Centre is so popular that they have 4 services on a Sunday to accomodate all the worshippers, now need a bigger church, who said Christianity was dead.

Bulwell Motor Company, Piccadilly Bulwell, now sadly gone. So has the Piccadilly Club to the left. Also had a petrol pump outside with an enormous hose to reach the road.

We finished a late shift on the buses & then into the club for a few beers !

I haven't been along that way for years. Didn't there used to be a bus depot along there?

St Anns Well Rd / Northampton St.

Now housing occupies the site of another Cleveland garage where I worked mid - late 60s, another victim of the wholesale house clearance then.

Interesting to note that Northampton St in those days continued right down to the junction of St Anns Well Rd, not the same layout as today.

I remember that garage from visits to my Gran in Bulwell.

Some things don't change. Even these days, you can often see car sales tricked up with sea-side bunting. Do they really think it attracts customers?

Another one which hasn't been pictured before. Partly reminded of it by this....

I worked a while at the garage at the corner of Alfreton Road and Radford Boulevard. You didn't self serve but I put the fuel in. There used to be a lovely Afro Caribbean chap come in who always wanted 'tree gallon oh tree star'

This photo is described as 1939, and at the time the garage is named as Westbourne's.

Bell's Terminus Garage. Hucknall Lane Bulwell Hall.

This sight has been totally redeveloped but I remember when it was just a small family garage with a couple of petrol pumps.

The lay bye was also the no 44 bus terminus & turnround.

I remember Bell's Garage too - I used to have to carry my dad's car battery there and back to be recharged during the winter. They used to sell Rootes Group cars (Hillman etc) then Skoda before giving up on new car sales altogether.

The trolleybuses used to turn there before the buses replaced them.

A lot have been shoved out by supermarkets. I remember all the freebies. Those red and white mugs, cups and saucers and storage jars from Mobil, and all the booze glasses from Texaco. We still have some of these.

Many thanks for bringing back great memories. In 1966 my dad bought a white Morris 1100 from Morkel and Carnill for £700! I loved it. It had a bright red interior. Mum wanted blue, dad wanted green and I wanted red so we had white! In 1973 dad got a new Wolseley 1300 and I had the Morris 1100. I kept it until it was 13 years old and was heartbroken when it developed a hole so you could see the road and it had to go. Dad's Wolseley was brillian and it went like fire! It is ironic that the garage ended up as a Saab dealership. We love Saabs. Such a shame they stopped making them.

I had to go back and see what you were referring to !

I remember those buildings later being a Saab dealership; I have a slight interest there because I had a couple of Saabs (not at the same time) in the mid-70s when the main dealer was Nattriss on Woodborough Road.
