Unfortunately I didn't hear about it till around 2,00pm by which time it was back on the track s and just being driven away (as I got there)

A bloody big train it was too !! (I've never seen one this big in this country)

That is a track laying machine, you can sometimes see them in Toton.

They deliver the track sections from Balfour Beatty, to the old freightliner depot next to Boots, for assembly, for delivery by rail, some of the track laying trains are over a mile long.

They were testing a new track laying train on the old High Marnham power station line near tuxford last year.

Taxi Ray , This one must have been close to a mile in length

This is not a track laying vehicle it's a Ballast cleaner, very similar to our grading screens at our quarry
