What a plonker http://www.nottinghampost.com/watch-bulwell-s-david-beckham-on-this-morning-say-he-needs-to-spend-another-30k-on-his-dream/story-29746931-detail/story.html
banjo48 925
For once in the first bit I'm lost for words ! And what can you say about the wannabe ! I cannot believe a bank lent him the money, for that crap. He talks well though, don't he . maybe his day of fame arrived ? he was on tv after all.
catfan 14,782
I've seen this plonker in Bulwell "Wethers" a few times. Oh how he loves himself ! No Job, sounds about right. Prize Plonker.

DJ360 6,393
That lad is clearly delusional. He's an extreme example of the now common idea that you can become rich and famous just by wanting to become rich and famous. BTW, I look more like Beckham than he does.. firbeck 859
Just stop the pathetic, useless morons benefits, but then the system doesn't work like that, it punishes the innocents, I know from experience. Anyone driving around Bullwell, if they see him and think they can get away with it, drive up the pavement and, well, do the world a favour.
Bilbraborn 1,594
There are too many of them around. Why do I look out of the widow and see young lasses taking their kids to school. They are sauntering along completely engrossed in that silly smart phone rubbish they are reading. Fifty yards behind is a tiny child completely out of range of mother's interest. It only takes a second for that child to see its mate over the road and run under the wheels of a bus. My lovely wifey (and myself of course) never let go of our children's hands when out in the street. 1
Bilbraborn 1,594
Sorry I did not look out of the widow. It was the window. LOL
Jill Sparrow 9,677
#8 Whatever happened to reins? I was on reins virtually until I went to school at 4 years old. They were pink leather, fleece lined with a silver bunny rabbit on the front. I hated them but there was no wandering off when walking along Gregory Boulevard with my mother! benjamin1945 15,561
Fleece lined with a silver bunny hey Jill,...........good job me Mam didn't see them.........they would have gone a treat with me 'Liberty Bodice' 1
Jill Sparrow 9,677
#11 You'd have had blue reins, Ben. Pink for girls, blue for boys, liberty bodices for both....apparently!

Tomorrow I catch the train for a few days in Kidderminster with my ex BGS girlfiend from 45 years ago, we are going to attempt to climb the Clee Hills on Saturday!! But that isn't the point, catch the Tube or any train or go anywhere and people are just obsessed with their phones, they stumble along pavements, talk in cars 'Big Time'', sit on a train these days and people are just obsessed with phones, sod that, too much to see and contemplate out the window of the train, has the world gone mad, have people completely lost their imagination and creative thinking, it seems so to me that's the case.

catfan 14,782
Mobile phones ? An invention of the Devil himself ! I received some junk mail from Virgin Media the other day promising me a iPhone 7 or whwateve the latest one is for £47 per month WHAAAAAT ! Some idiots are hooked in to wanting the latest phone all the time, Why ? It's like a drug to some.
Jill Sparrow 9,677
#15 It's the herd instinct, Catfan. Never subscribed to it myself! I like the old black Bakelite models with a proper dial!

DJ360 6,393
Nothing wrong with mobile phones, even the 'Smart' variety. You can get a very respectable 'Dumb' model for well under 40 quid. Bit of credit and your Granny is much reassured, your kids are trackable etc., and you don't need to walk 15 miles to the nearest vandalised phone box if you break down. The things are the brilliant! Smart phones? £150 or less and about a fiver a month for a basic package of texts, phonecalls and a bit of internet access. If pushed, that could replace a landline, basic mobile and PC. Not bad eh? I do not spend much time on mine, but it is very reassuring to know that I can keep in contact with my family who are all over the place, and vice versa. Don't blame the phones for the idiots who can't put them down. Col
banjo48 925
I do hate to see the younger generation living on their phones, literally, and to me very young kids it's a definite no no, they are not toys like some brainless mothers think ! But in context we do not have a land line and all our communications to virtually everything is done on a phone or ipad. I deplore Facebook and it's pervasiveness into our lives, but again are almost forced to use the damn thing sometimes just to keep track of our tribe. Technology is good if used correctly.
FLY2 10,106
There was an article about this air head on Nottst TV last night. Evidently he has already spent £18k on changing his looks which he got from Payday loan companies. He is on benefits and states that he has no idea how he will repay them. He reckons he still needs another £30k to fulfill his ambition. This beggars the question, what checks were made by the companies, and also, why hasn't the brainless oaf got a job ? Yet again..... Pass me the gun mother !
Bilbraborn 1,594
At least us oldies don't have sweaty hands from carrying our phones about all day. Mine is in my pocket and only used when necessary. Like Firbeck. I see too much going on in the real world to have any interest in the tiny detail of what everyone else is doing.

catfan 14,782
I blame pubs, bus companies & train companies encouraging people more by giving free wi-fi. Ride on a bus & most passengers are fiddling with the bleddy things.
TBI 2,351
They become addicts, prodding away and biting their nails waiting for the next text/tweet. Very sad. Haven't got a problem with free wifi though.
