Cowslip Sunday, Lambley, Nottinghamshire

Recommended Posts

Funny you should mention Cowslips Stu. As I drove out to Newark last Wednesday I went via Southwell, as I climbed the little hill between the Halloughton turn and Brakenhurst college the left hand bank of the road was covered in them ! I've never seen so many in one place.

I remember on one of our 'Rambles' into the country side as a kid my Mum becoming all excited 'cause she saw a couple of them , It may have been out Oxton way.

:) 'Cowslip Sunday', what a delightful name for an event. :)

Hi Stu, such a lovely, little picture of bright cowslips that you have presented.

Some years back this wild flower was in danger of becoming extinct; recently I've noticed pots of them for sale in the Garden Centres and Supermarkets. :)

There's a really nice display of them on the grass verge outside The Lambley restaurant (formerly the Nag's Head)

I did some field work to see if there were any in the Woodlark...just in the interests of research.

I can report there were some growing in pots in there. ;)
