Ged Ling 5
Hi all... Passed by the Apollo pub near Morrisons , Bulwell yesterday morning... its just a shell... and I suspect a pile of rubble within a few days. I only went in a couple of times many years ago...not the most welcoming place but the building itself was imposing, Oh well... another link to the past ends up as hardcore.
Bubblewrap 3,815
According to his it's been up for sale is it beeing converted into flats? http://www.heb.co.uk/licenceproperties/
mick2me 3,033
Thanks Bubblewrap. I see two two other pubs on that page that have now been sold. 'Ponderosa' Clifton Bridge Inn and Credo's Long Eaton, which IMO is a dump! But did this not used to be a Bernie Inn?
nnsc 131
I understood it was going to be some sort of pizza place.
taxi ray 170
It has now been flattened, so it looks like a totally new build, it could possibly be a pizza place as nnsc mentioned earlier. http://plan4.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/WAM/pas/showCaseFile.do?councilName=Nottingham+City+Council&appNumber=12%2F01544%2FPADA

Bubblewrap 3,815
Talking pubs in general I have a list of Nottingham pubs in 1950 & there were over 350 pubs in the city area at that time
IAN123. 9,325
Another watering venue from the past gone. Apart from being my local- it made as a fairly OK pit stop on a 'bat 'round.. The MK2 cortina with twin webers and obligitary corsair springs would start at The Yew Tree in Hucknall- Blue Boar. Swingers. Apollo. Newstead Abbey. Three Crowns. Monkeys ...finish in Golden Ball. Highbury Vale chippy ( opposite blood rooms). Home for an episode of Firehouse or Baretta.
