Cliff Ton 10,464
Was that the one on Derby Road, opposite Hand and Heart? It closed down as Ocean City, but is currently being re-fitted to open as something else (saw the name but can't remember it)

Cliff Ton 10,464
Looked better as the undertakers. Not sure that Ocean City was ever an undertakers; that was this place https://maps.google....=12,233.75,,0,
Fynger 841
AH ...i thought you meant the place with the big arched windows.
.... 23
I've a feeling Ocean City used to be at the same premises as The Ropewalk/funeral directors previously?
Cliff Ton 10,464
Maybe the name/location moved around a bit. This is the one I was thinking of (which has now closed down and currently has the builders in) https://maps.google....,351.55,,0,4.
.... 23
Certainly yes, opposite side to The Hand and Heart. Have a strong feeling though that Ocean City was at those former funeral directors originally.

Cliff Ton 10,464
Going back to the original post, the former Ocean City - opposite the Hand and Heart - has now reopened after its refit. Drove past there a few days ago. Unfortunately I can't remember its new name

Jill Sparrow 10,305
Didn't the premises next door used to be Lipman's, the bridal shop? As a bridesmaid in 1979, my dress came from there. Mrs Lipman's husband was a solicitor with an office in Nottingham.

My knowledge of bridal wear is limited, but there are people here with access to relevant information and they might come up with an answer. 47 minutes ago, mary1947 said: Welcome Nottingham89 looking forward to your post's......Oh by the way there is a meet up at the Lime Kiln on 3rd Oct from 12 00noon would be nice if you could make it.
