  1. The Evening Post seem a bit shambolic at the moment, I rang their newsdesk on Monday offering them some pictures of the fire on the Wells Road - they asked me to email the pictures so I asked if there were any size limits on e-mail attachments. I was assured there wasn't.

To be on the safe side, I split the images into two e-mail and sent them.

An hour later I get the message,

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

So as far as I know, they didn't get the pictures.

  2. Sony cameras (formerly Minolta) are really quite good, Carl Zeiss do some of the lenses for them and they're one of the best in the business. As for the kit lenses that come with Canon and Nikon cameras - they're not as bad as some people make them out to be.

  3. I agree with Radfordred, Imelda May was brilliant - she's got so much talent, I'm not surprised people like Jeff Beck sometimes use her talents. Of the other acts, The Feelgoods and The New Amen Corner were ok; but I was quite impressed with the Animals, maybe because I didn't expect a lot - anyway, they had Chris Farlowe as guest vocalist.

I took a few snaps thinking you might like to see a few familiar faces.

  4. Considering it's a freebie it's well worth going along. I don't think the line-up is as strong as last year - the Manfreds/Alan Price were amazing and it's a bit of a shame that there's no new talent on show; last year we had three really good acts.

The Animals are not the band we know from the sixties but it will still be interesting to see them linking up with Spencer Davis.

  5. The line-up subject to confirmation.

  6. Always admired Michael Foot - my sort of politician; a great writer and idealist, somebody who was honest, had values and went into politics to serve the people he represented. He was also a real socialist unlike much of the Labour Party today. He'll be missed.
